About this Exam

What Is IB Math AA SL?

IB Mathematics: Analysis & Approaches Standard Level is a 150-hour two-year course built around algebraic rigour, functions, calculus and statistical inference. SL students take Paper 1 (no calculator) and Paper 2 (with GDC), plus a 12–20 page Mathematical Exploration worth 20%. AA SL is the standard math route for university applicants in the social sciences, life sciences, and any non-engineering STEM field.
