What Is IB Chem HL?
IB Chemistry HL is a 240-hour two-year course covering everything in SL plus HL-only extensions in atomic structure, bonding, energetics, kinetics, equilibrium, acids/bases, redox, organic chemistry and spectroscopy. HL students sit longer Paper 1 and Paper 2 exams and a Paper 3 with an additional option topic. It is the standard prerequisite for medicine, dentistry, chemistry, pharmacy and chemical engineering at top universities.
